How do I make a photo background transparent?

Upload the photo and the background is removed automatically. In the Background panel on the left, select Transparent under Popular, then download as PNG. JPG can't store transparency, so pick PNG.

How do I change the background of a photo?

After the cutout, pick a color or a template from the Background panel, or select Custom to upload your own image. The new background fits the canvas of your original photo. To keep the original scene but soften it, select Blur instead.

What if the AI cuts off part of the subject or leaves some background behind?

Hair and soft edges are where cutouts most often slip. Open Erase/Restore and brush the missing part back, or brush the leftover background away. Zoom in for fine strands. Photos with clear contrast between subject and background give the cleanest result.
